The New M.E. Generation

{June 23, 2010}   Putting Yourself Online 18 – Going away

“C’mon over here,” said Ivan. He pulled my hand close to him and embraced me. I think this is the closest I’ve ever been with him.

We kept talking and holding hands, but I wasn’t looking at him. I was still sad. That’s probably why he pulled me close to him.

“My high school class is doing a reunion next month. I want to go, but my employer doesn’t want me to leave,” said he.

“You should go and she should let you. You’ve earned it. If I were you, I would go home for a couple of weeks. I’m sure your family and friends would love to see you.”

“I need at least two weeks. It takes me 24 hours to just get there.”

“Well, I hope you call me before you go or after you get back.”

“I can do that.”

Wishful thinking. He did neither.
